Botanicals, Digital Image on Kodak glossy photo paper. In 1999 my father started a compounding pharmacy in Boca Raton, called Skip’s Pharmacy. The method of mixing and combining chemicals and the notion of being an apothecary just reminded me of an almost steam punk ideal. I ended up researching more into Alphose Mucha because I really enjoyed his artwork and commercial prints. While this piece doesn’t have the girl with long flowing hair that most of his work has, I did use line that is reminiscent of Mucha’s style. A copy has been hanging in the pharmacy since it’s creation.
